Various Members
Dates Showing: March 31st - April 30th, 1999

Eastern Edge Gallery's Annual Members' Exhibition was used this year to mark the 50th anniversary of Newfoundland's Confederation with Canada. The subject was Joseph R. Smallwood, the last living Father of Confederation, where "love him or hate him," was the general consensus. Artist members contributed opinionated works about the man who - depending on one's viewpoint - led, cajoled, convinced, and/or terrorized Newfoundlanders into joining Canada in 1949.

Participating artists: Ruby Beaumont, Greg Bennett, Bernice Blake, Tara Bryan, Joyce Cho, Andrea Cooper, Simon Dragland, Peter Drydsale, Will Gill, Austin King, Kathleen Knowling, Bonnie Leyton, Margaret O'Rourke, Steve Payne, Ellen Reid, Eamon Rosato & Bill Rose
